15 June. Day 16. 1565 kms

At the side of the road a sign said welcome to Alberta. Hey, I realised that I had crossed my first Canadian province. I was on my way.

I cut away from the Trans Canada highway and headed North of Calgary to the prairies. I did not fancy fighting the Calgary traffic and thought that I would leave the stampeding to the cowboys. Now someone told me that after a week on the prairies you look at the scenery and say, 'hey, was I here yesterday?'. The scenery certainly looks pretty much the same everywhere.

Flat, flat, flat.

But even in the middle of the grasslands you just can't get away from 21st century civilization.
