20 June. Day 21. 2280 kms

I mentioned previously that people were everywhere friendly and temptation was often put in the way as drivers stopped and invited me to put the bike in the back of the pick-up and take a ride into town. With a prairies headwind in your face it was the temptation of Job. But, you can't cheat yourself and I had promised to REI--ride every inch.

So, I made it across Alberta and into Saskatchewan.

But still the road went on.

There were small towns built every 10kms along the railroad, marked by a grain silo. But the combine harvesters have gone; the silos stand empty and decaying and the towns are dying.
